1956 23' Chris Craft Continental
In 1955 Chris Craft came out with the Continental series of boats. This was their most expensive boat offered at the time and was considered the "Cadillac" of the waters. The 23' model was introduced in 1956 and only 170 hulls were built between 1956 to 1958. With the hull #CL-23-039, this 23' Continental was the 39th built in 1956. It was purchased in 2014 by the current owner and brought here to Frontier Classics for a full restoration. Fully restored in the cold molded process of construction, a new "no soak" three ply solid mahogany bottom was installed. The hull sides, transom, and all the topside decking was also replaced with new wood in the cold molded process. No expense was spared in the restoration. The gauges were restored, all the hardware was re-chromed, new teak and holly flooring installed, all the interior brightwork was refinished, new gas tank, new wiring, switch to a 12 volt duel battery system, and all new custom upholstery was installed. The original MBL engine was completely restored by CD'S Engine in Hudsonville, MI and has less than 50hrs on it since. The owner has meticulously maintained the boat on a covered lift station and it has been professionally maintained here at frontier Classics since the restoration was completed in 2015. It also comes with a duel axel bunk trailer. This is by far the best 23' Continental out there. This is a turn key show condition boat. Full documentation of the restoration work is available as well as additional pictures.
