1935 26' Chris Craft Special

HULL #10124

Chris Craft built seven special race boats in 1934-35. This boat is one of three known survivors. All 26' specials had the Chris Craft A-120 824 cubic inch engine. They were rated at 275 hp up to 350 hp for the A-120A version.

These boats ran over 50 miles per hour in the 1930's. Light weight and speed made them instant winners on the gentlemen's race circuit. Popular venues were the Harwood Race around Manhattan, Ocean City, NJ, Atlantic City and the Florida Grapefruit Circuit.

They were fast, but also beautiful with their Honduran mahogany, leather interiors and plated brass hardware. This boat was restored by Morine Marine, Bay City, Michigan and now spends her summers on Walloon Lake, Michigan.

She is a timeless American art form we can still admire today.

Engine is Modern Power.
